Dr. Iphigenia Ioannou was born in Nicosia. She graduated from Kykkos A’ Lyceum. She studied Dentistry at the University of Pécs Medical School in Pécs, Hungary.
During her studies, she was a member of the Undergraduate Research Society. She carried out research work in the field of dental stem cells differentiation. The title of her thesis was “Osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament progenitor cells”, which she had the opportunity to present at European Undergraduate Research Conference.
Following her father’s footsteps as a dental technician, after high school, Dr Ioannou graduated from the department of Dental Technology of the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens, Greece. After her graduation, she worked as a dental technician for the following 3 years in Athens and in Nicosia.
She is a member of the Cyprus Dental Association, the Dental Association of Nicosia-Kyrenia, the Hungarian Dental Association and the Cyprus Association of Dental Technicians.
Dr Ioannou is continuously trained and attends courses and conferences. She has special clinical interest in prosthodontics, aesthetic dentistry and in the use of CAD CAM technology, i.e. digital system for manufacture of direct ceramic restoration. . After the completion of her studies in dentistry, she returned to Cyprus and started working at Adamantio Dental Center.
