With the abundance of information sources overwhelming us, most patients fully understand the philosophy of modern dentistry. We advise all our patients to schedule regular visits to their dentist (preferably every 6 months) for preventive check-ups, in order to avoid potential dental issues.
Preventive dentistry starts at a very young age, as the first visit of our young patients typically takes place around the age of 5. At these ages, the visits are mainly for check-ups, education, tooth brushing training, fluoride treatments for the children’s teeth, and most importantly, to familiarize them with the dental office environment.
From the age of 6 and onwards, when children have their first permanent teeth in the oral cavity, it is recommended to also perform preventive sealants on the permanent first molars.
Prevention, of course, continues into older ages in the form of dental cleanings and oral cavity check-ups every 6 months, in order to catch any early signs of decay or other issues, thereby minimizing the patient’s discomfort from more serious and severe dental problems.
